About Mrs. Miller
The 2022-2023 school year marks my 16th year of teaching 4th grade at Jasper Elementary. I also did my student teaching at Jasper in the 2nd grade. I feel blessed to be a part of this school district. There are many wonderful things happening here.
I live with my husband, Kaleb, daughter, Makinley (age 12), and son, Jaydon (age 6). We have one dog---a German Shepherd, named Sonja. Outside of school, I love to watch the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals play, work in my flowers, play board games, read, and spend time with our family and friends. |

As with all new skills we attempt to learn, we oftentimes fail. That is okay, and that is why I try to help students take small steps in their academic progress. We then celebrate those accomplishments, which hopefully helps students feel more at ease taking risks in the classroom. Due to the demands testing places on teachers and students in getting curriculum met by the end of the year, it is EXTREMELY important that we have your assistance throughout the school year. Inevitably, there will come a point in the school year when your child struggles with a particular subject or topic. One of my biggest responsibilities as a teacher is to offer as much support as I can to help both you and your child. If you feel that you and/or your child needs additional help, resources, or clarification, please don't hesitate to contact me. My contact information is located in the 'contact' tab of this site.
As far as behavior is concerned, I try to keep things as black and white as possible for students. I'm not here to make anyone's life miserable, but I will be consistent when I enforce consequences. This is the best way to keep things fair for all students in my classroom. As we work together, the one thing I want us all to do is to respect one another. We all make mistakes, and it is through that process that we grow in our respective roles (student, teacher, parent). I'm prepared to make this the best school year yet. I hope you'll be right there with me! |
